Women. Is it true that How much Eye Contact will tell you if a man is confident or not?

I have read in lots of body language sites on the net, that Eye contact is a crucial role when communicating with women... They say that a man's eye contact will tell a woman a lot about him. Is this true? Steady eye contact is a good thing versus like, breaking eye contact when you look at him? Also, if he sharply breaks eye contact, what does that say.. I mean after you look at him?
