Where should I go with this story?

Is this all you have for your opening? If so, first I would revise it a bit to give it a little more "oomph". There needs to be more detail, more meat in the burger. Try explaining more of the persons emotion, possibly some background details. After that, brainstorm; where did you originally plan on taking your piece? What can you do to really catch the readers attention? Did this person die of a freak accident, or maybe a health problem? Maybe something paranormal happens with the main character (just an idea). He/she starts seeing ghosts after this accident, or his/her brother needs help crossing over. It's all up to you in the end how you take your story. Maybe they go into a spiralling depression and someone comes along and saves them. Good luck! I have problems with writers block sometimes too. Just have to work through it!
