Why is unstructured play important for children? Why is structured play important?

So much of our children's time is spent in structured activities instead of unstructured play. A 2005 national Harris Poll revealed that 75% of the 355 pediatricians surveyed reported that the time their young patients spend on unstructured play has decreased sharply in the past 5 years
