IPod help please!!!!?

ok so i got the ipod touch 8g and im trying so sync music onto it, but i dont know how. i have all of the songs from my old music player saved on my computer so i dont have to buy them again. i just need to figure out a way to get the music (mp3) files on my ipod. if i have to do it through itunes i have it all set up. i just need some help, and help would be really appreciated, thanks!!!
